      Mahindra's 110 cc scooter spotted testing in India

      Mahindra 2-wheelers seems to be getting serious with its two-wheeler business line. At one of the public events, a senior Mahindra 2-wheelers official said, “The scooter segment is extremely important for the company and we will come out with brand new models from time to time.” As per sources the new scooter codenamed G101 has been spotted testing on roads near the Pune city. For now the scooter seems to be in the testing phase that is armored like a full production version.

      The G101 scooter is aimed at family scooter segment and therefore expected to be powered by 110 cc, four-stroke, air-cooled engine. Kick start and electric start option shall come as a standard feature as seen in most of scooters in the country. For a comfortable ride the scooter has received Telescopic fork suspension for the front and single hydraulic shock suspension for the rear wheel. Broad grab bar has been added for the convenience of pillion rider. On the exterior front the scooter features high positioned rear view mirrors and Vertical set indicators that compliment the clear lens headlamp. Mahindra 2-wheelers chooses to remain tight-lipped about the new scooter and may speak in detail post an official launch of this scooter.

      Mahindra Mojo 300 has been one among the most talked about power bike expected to be launched in India. This year Mahindra 2-wheelers had finally showcased the production version at the recently held Auto Expo event. Mahindra Mojo is expected to be incorporated with a 300 cc, liquid cooled, 4-valve DOHC engine which will produce a power output of 25 bhp at 8500 rpm, and peak torque of 24 Nm at 7000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox is coupled with the engine and sources are speculating that it will be named VPI-2. Also, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) will not be offered in this bike and instead it will be assisted with petal discs at front and rear. Suspension types of Paioli upside-down forks and gas charged mono-shocks will be used at front and rear, respectively. It must be noted that this bike will have Pirelli Sport Demon tyres which are known for their stupendous grip on uneven terrains. Also, multi-spoke alloy wheels will be enhancing the looks of Mahindra Mojo. Furthermore, dual exhausts are provided in this bike which give a sporty look to the whole attire.

      If launched, the G101 code named scooter shall compete in the 110 cc segment that enjoyed a monopoly by Japanese auto biggie Honda with scooters like Activa, Dio, Activa i and Aviator. Further details on pricing are awaited and shall be known post an official launch by the India bike-maker.
