Mahindra has officially announced the name of its upcoming small commercial vehicle – Mahindra Jeeto – which was codenamed the ‘P601’. The Jeeto will be manufactured at the company’s new extended production plant at Zaheerabad, Telangana on which the company has invested Rs. 250 crore.
The company has defined the ‘Jeeto’ as a versatile new product that will target the small commercial load segment, and cater varied requirements of the customers. Coming to the engine, the Jeeto LCV (light commercial vehicle) will be powered by a new m_Dura Direct Injection (DI) diesel engine that is claimed to deliver refined performance and high fuel efficiency.
Features such as music system, a dashboard mounted gearlever and a mobile phone charging socket are likely to be on offer. Based on an all-new platform, the vehicle will have payload between 600kgs – 800kgs. Since Mahindra has been testing the vehicle aggressively, we expected it to launch soon. Upon its launch, the Mahindra Jeeto will rival against the Tata Ace Zip and others in the segment.
