As we reported earlier, Mahindra Two-Wheelers is planning to launch a range of Peugeot Scooters in India that are already on sale in the European market. The company has recently showcased all Peugeot scooters at a dealers conference in Mumbai, along with the upcoming Mojo and its existing product lineup.

The day also marked the launch of the Mahindra’s new ad campaign for its existing products. The new ad campaign highlights the additional features of the Mahindra two-wheelers – the Centuro and the Gusto. It also shows that Mahindra two-wheeler owners aren’t less than the four-wheel drivers.

Just so you know, Mahindra Group acquired Peugeot Motorcycles (PMTC) in January 2015, is now planning to bring-in three Peugeot scooters in the Indian market. One of those products is the Metropolis, which is powered with a 400cc, four-stroke engine with liquid-cooled and electronic fuel injection technology. The engine is mated to a CVT (continue variable transmission) that helps it to deliver 37bhp, and attain a top-speed of 144kmph.

For the Indian market, the company might introduce a down-sized version of the scooter, and place it in 250cc or 300cc scooter segment. With unconventional styling sporty performance, the Peugeot Metropolis will take on the upcoming Hero Zir, Honda PCX150 and other premium scooters in India. Other two products are the neo-retro Peugeot Django 125cc and Satelis that will rival Vespa LX 125 and Honda PCX 150 respectively.
