Mahindra and Mahindra Limited (M&M), the country's largest Utility Vehicle (UV) maker, started its fourth North American production and distribution unit in Bloomsberg in the Pennsylvania province of USA. The new facility is called 'Mahindra Authorised Distribution Centre' and will cater to the requirements of prospective customers. The latest offerings from the stable of M&M, including Mahindra Max series tractors and new line-up of compact tractors, have been developed specifically for the American market.

The Bloomberg situated facility will function as a conduit for the distribution of M&M products and will be instrumental in assisting its dealers with enhanced cost savings.

The new production and distribution unit will also assist M&M in a brand building exercise on the American turf and will also help the company in expanding its customer base. It is also believed that the facility will also aid the company in recruiting new allies on the foreign soil, which will ensure top-class service and assistance to M&M's new clients in USA.

Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors, M&M, said, “The opening of this newest assembly and distribution centre represents our commitment to growing our tractor business in North America. The new facility will provide support and service to Mahindra’s north-east United States and eastern Canadian dealers and partners. The centre, to be operated in partnership with TPC Power Centre, will also create a positive impact on the Bloomsburg and surrounding area’s economy.”

Ruzbeh Irani, Chief Executive, International Operations (Automobile and Farm Sectors), M&M, said, “The new facility is a validation of our commitment to the success of our dealer partners and customers. Mahindra and TPC have converted an empty warehouse on five acres into a fully-functional 40,000 square foot facility that will employ up to 30 people in the operation as it moves into full production. Initially, the facility will assemble 200 Mahindra tractors per month with the capacity to produce 500 per month.”
