      KTM RC200 set to be introduced in India on 9th September

      Austrian bike manufacturer KTM, which works in India along with Bajaj Auto, is going to be really occupied in the month of September. After successfully launching and promoting the Duke series in India, KTM is set to launch the RC set of bikes, namely 390 and 200. While the launch of KTM RC390 was sure, it was unclear as to whether the firm would also introduce the RC200. However, sources and various automobile tabloids claim that come 9th September, KTM RC200 shall see the light of the Indian market.

      A report by Motorbeam suggests that the KTM RC200 is going to be launched alongside RC390 in India on 9th September, marking a twin introduction and a giant leap by the Austrian firm in the subcontinent, which is one of the largest markets across the globe. Rumors were rife that the bikes could be launched together by KTM in India and when the duo made an appearance at the EICMA International Motorcycle Exhibition in Milan, speculations were fueled further and some have drawn definitive conclusions.

      KTM, on its part, has said nothing regarding the introduction date of this bike and neither has it talked about the potential booking money. However, sources suggest that unofficial bookings of these models have begun and dealerships are sealing the deal for INR 30000.

      KTM is expected to market the RC series bikes with some vigour and help customers draw their attention to the deviation from the Duke series. Some of the expected features in KTM RC390 and RC 200 will be daytime running lights, pillion seat and new mirrors. KTM RC200 will feature an engine that enables it to develop maximum power of up to 25 BHP and top torque of 19.2 Nm. Both bikes will feature a six-speed gearbox and Anti-lock Braking System will come as standard.

      It is widely expected that the price of these bikes are going to be on the higher side with KTM RC200 slated to priced INR 2 lakh (on road Mumbai) and KTM RC390 to cost around INR 2.5 lakh. Bajaj Auto, KTM’s partner in India, will be pivotal in selling these models across the country, just like it has done for the Duke 390 and 200. Experts believe that the role played by Bajaj Auto will be of the utmost importance, since it is brand trusted by people and shall help KTM target a large lot of customers.
