KTM has finally brought some changes in the 2015 Duke 390. Though on initial inspection, the changes might slip the eye, yet there are quite a number of them, which separates it out form the 2014 variant. The changes are as a result of the inputs that the Austrian company considered from its customers’ viewpoint. As a result, the 2015 edition of the KTM Duke 390 will receive a series of updates.

Perhaps, the biggest upgrade is the addition of a slipper clutch to the system. This was specially added to racing bikes. When the gear is down shifted at higher speeds, the rear tyre tends to hold up, resulting in disastrous accidents due to loss of traction. The ABS is non-functional here, as it is kicks off only on the application of brakes. To negate this problem, a slipper clutch is introduced. KTM owners had complained about the slipper clutch missing on the bikes. Now, the 2015 Duke edition comes loaded with slipper clutch.

The most important change after the addition of a slipper clutch is the increase in the service interval. The service interval for 2015 KTM Duke 390 is an interval of 390 kilometres, instead of 5000 kilometres. Also, a few cosmetic changes make an entry on the new model – new handlebar grips, LED turning signals. Upside down front fork as well as rear monoshock suspension systems is added with plastic cladding giving it a better protection against dust and dirt. This makes it more suitable for Indian road conditions.

The 2015 KTM Duke 390 is powered by the same mono-cylinder, 4-stroke mill, with a six-speed transmission. With a total weight of 147 kilograms, the bike has a wheelbase of 1340 mm. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is 10 litres. The best part is all these upgrades are at zero cost. The price of KTM Duke 390 remains unchanged.
