KTM has set the standards with the KTM 1190 Adventure, and it has been named the Adventure Bike of the Year. It is hard to improve on such a standard. However, the manufacturer seems to do the same with the 1290 Super Adventure, which is one step further from the previous. The model will be revealed at the Intormot Show at Cologne in Germany. Definitely, after the 1190 Adventure there will be a lot of expectations from the 1290 Super Adventure and the manufacturer also will undoubtedly, try to put forward their best foot forward.

The heavy 1301 cc from the Super Duke R has been installed into the chassis of 1190 to give the basic structure of the 1290 Superbike. The details are not available at the moment; however, some of the specifications have been revealed. It is not even clearly known whether the bike has been designed as a sports tourer or an ADV bike. It might be able to compete against heavier bikes like the BMW R1200GS, ApriliaCaponord and Ducati Multistrada.

The Super Adventure might be a more luxurious choice than the 1190 and it will be provided with a larger fuel tank. The windscreen has been made taller and side vents have been installed to release more heat. The 1301 cc LC8 V-twin engine will definitely need more vents to expel the heat giving to the fact that it will generate such power. The electronics section will be further upgraded for the superbike. Traction control and ABS both will be installed in the superbike. Cruise control might also find a way, to help the bike get accustomed to longer distances.

The engine has been designed to suit the bike to take on the roads. It will be on the freeways sometime during early 2015. It is expected that the superbike will have an illustrious and a long future globally.
