      Jaguar Land Rover to decide on Chinese partner by this year end

      The British subsidiary of India auto giant Tata Motors, Jaguar & Land Rover, is expected to pick a partner in the Chinese market to began with manufacturing in the local market. As per industry sources, the firm will be deciding upon this matter by the end of this year.

      Speaking to the reporters at the Frankfurt auto show on Tuesday, Company’s Chief Executive Ralf Speth said, "We're absolutely on our path to make the decision by the end of this year... but we cannot say when we will be able to start production in China." The timing of the starting of the production of JLR in the Chinese market will depend on the time the Chinese regulators will take to approve the production.

      While further elaborating the company’s take on the European Union's strict target for CO2 emissions by 2020, Mr. Speth said, "We see absolutely no problem reaching the 95 grammes per kilometer. We want to reach that."

      Jaguar Land Rover was acquired by Tata Motors in year 2008 from Ford Motors, and since then the firm is performing considerably well in the global market. While Jaguar is a premium luxury sedan maker, Land Rover is one of the most popular Spots Utility Vehicle (SUV) makers in the world market.
