Isuzu is a brand that is still making its way up the ladder in the Indian car market. Currently, the Japanese vehicle manufacturer has two models on sale in India, namely the D-Max pick up truck and the MU-7 Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV). According to sources, the company has plans of bringing-in other models to India in the future as it has realised the kind of potential the market possesses. Recently, Isuzu launched a special edition of the D-Max pick up truck, called D-Max LS. Notably, the D-Max pick up truck earned the reputation of being a top class vehicle in the global market, receiving appreciation from both critics and consumers.
The limited edition model of the Isuzu D-Max is on sale in showrooms in Philippines, which has been a good operation centre for the Japanese brand. Industry experts feel that the Indian launch of the same would not be far off, given the success of the vehicle. Isuzu has brought in a lot of style to this version of the D-Max pick up truck, making it look more appealing. The Isuzu D-Max LS boasts of a modern design that includes rework on front bumper and bonnet with sporty racing stripes. Interestingly, these stripes, featuring metallic grey colour and red outlining, come under the warranty of Isuzu D-Max LS.
Also, buyers have the option of choosing two colour options from ‘Glacial White’ and ‘Ebony Black’ for the body and stripes. It is quite evident from the design that the company has put in a dedicated effort at enhancing the appearance of the Isuzu D-Max LS. Industry experts feel that the uniqueness in its style, which is quite different from a regular pick up truck, is going to attract a lot of buyers.
It must be noted that buyers have choices in terms of transmission and drive system variants while purchasing the Isuzu D-Max LS pick up truck. The model has been offered with an option of either automatic or manual transmission systems. Option of front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive is also offered with the new model. The front-drive wheel version can be bought with black-finish step boards, while the all-wheel drive variant is available with black-finish step tubes, alloy wheels and front chin spoiler. Being a powerful and strong vehicle, the D-Max LS is equipped with a 4JJ1-TC iTEQ turbocharged CRDI EURO 2 engine, which is capable of generating a maximum power output of around 144 bhp, along with a torque of up to 294 Nm.
Industry experts have praised the performance of Isuzu D-Max LS, terming it ideal for its developing auto markets. Reportedly, front wheels of this model have stabilizer bar and torsion bar springs, while the rear has semi-elliptical leaf springs with telescopic shock absorber. Apart from this, interiors of this model are also well designed, featuring black seats combing leather and vinyl and illuminated still plate. One of the key highlights of its interiors include the advanced music system, comprising a 6.2-inch LCD screen, DVD/MP3/WMA player and Bluetooth connectivity. Industry experts are of a view that the D-Max pick up truck has done reasonably well in India of one was to consider all its limitations. Industry experts feel that Isuzu might be tempted to soon launch the limited edition version to boost sales in the Indian market as well.
