Italian car maker Lamborghini, a firm owned by German group Volkswagen, has denied the possibility of introducing an entry level model that will be slotted below the current Huracan model. In recent times, several reports have cropped up regarding the fact that Lamborghini is planning to add a new entry-level model, keeping in mind what its competitors are doing. However, unlike Lamborghini’s indecision regarding the production of a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), it is certain that a new entry-level model will not be produced and slotted below the Huracan.

According to a report by Inautonews, Lamborghini boss Stephan Winkelmann has been quoted as saying that the feasibility of such a model is not great. An automatic repercussion of launching such a model means entering a highly competitive segment and pricing the car below US $200,000. Though a new model has been rendered out of the question, Lamborghini could yet sell affordable variants of existing cars in the future just like McLaren is going to do with 570S.

Two basic models being offered currently by Lamborghini include Aventador and Huracan. The latter was launched recently in 2014 to replace the highly popular Gallardo and was a designed by the famous Filippo Perini. This two-door coupe has been offered with a mid-engine and an all-wheel drive system. Experts have compared this car to the new generation Audi R8, which has got rave reviews from both critics and customers. Lamborghini Huracan is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine that produces an output of 602 BHP along with peak torque of 560 Nm. Featuring a seven-speed dual clutch transmission system, this car can clock 100 kmph from scratch within 3.2 seconds and is capable of reaching a top speed of 325 kmph.
