Ford'd hot selling compact SUV rechristened as EcoSport has been a huge hit on local soils. To upkeep customers expectation in delivering better, the American car-maker has plans to introduce the India's favorite compact SUV with Daytime Running lamps (DRL's). The new lamps shall be offered at a price of Rs. 14,000. The cost includes associated wiring required for the DRL's. The new DRL equipped headlamps have been coined by the company as “Signature Headlamps”. The DRL's shall be neatly positioned around the headlamps as a thin strip.
Ford Ecosport, the compact SUV is available in petrol as well as diesel variants. The petrol version is powered by 1.5 Litre and 1.0 Litre petrol engine that generates about 112 Ps of power with 140 Nm of torque and 125 Ps of power with 170 Nm of torque respectively. The diesel version is powered by 1.5 Litre engine that generates about 91Ps of power with 204Nm of torque. The 1.0 Liter petrol variant delivers around 18.9 kmpl, the 1.5 Liter petrol variant delivers around 16.15 kmpl and the diesel variant with 1.5 liter engine delivers around 22.7 kmpl. The compact SUV gets a EPAS with Pull Drift Compensation technology for steering for maximum control. For a comfortable ride, the car gets Independent McPherson strut with coil spring and anti-roll bar for the front, whereas the rear gets Semi-independent twist beam with twin gas and oil filled shock absorbers.
Ford EcoSport perfectly defines the compact SUV concept. Smart dimensions of this car virtually make it fit into the tightest of corners with ease. Compact exterior does not eat-up on the cabin space as most often seen with cars in this category. The cabin is noise-free, thereby ensuring that you can enjoy the drive listening to your favorite music or talking to your peers. American car-maker Ford has also given due importance to safety factor. The compact SUV comes with traction control and Electronic Stability Program (ESP) to tackle corner with ease. The car is loaded with 6 airbags which is standard in Titanium AT and Titanium optional models. Controlling the car at high speeds is not a task for the Ecosport with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) technology.
