      Honda Activa 125 launches on 28th April

      Much awaited wait for India's most popular automatic scooter named Activa from Honda is finally set for launch on 28th April, 2014. The Honda Activa 125 created large amount of curiosity among the interested buyer lot when the scooter was first showcased during February held Auto Expo event held in Delhi. As per a fresh update the Activa scooter is stated to be offered at a starting price tag of Rs. 52,447 for the standard drum brake version, whereas the Disc brake and alloy wheel version is priced at Rs. 58,156 (Both prices are Ex-showroom Delhi. The scooter is expected to be offered in four interesting shades like - Midnight Blue, Black, Pearl White and Sword Silver.

      The recently introduced HET – Honda Efficient technology has been claimed to be successful on Activa 110 and Activa-i. The technology may find its way into the new variant of Activa as well. Moreover, the new 125 cc Activa features force air-cooled and single cylinder engine that is complimented with variator-controlled automatic transmission technology. Referring to the HET innovation, sources added, this technology uses low friction parts in the engine and has also used better air filters. This helps in reducing the overall engine friction, thereby delivering around 60 kmpl, as seen from the existing 110 cc Activa and Activa-i variant.

      The existing lot of automatic scooters from Honda is powered by maximum engine capacity of 110 cc. The upcoming scooter shall be the first from the Activa line to be powered by a 125 cc engine. The scooter is stated to be powered by 124.9cc engine that generates about 8.6 bhp of power with 10.12 Nm of torque.

      The scooter shall get a full metal body with a sharp design and the instrument cluster gets an all digital panel. The well designed structure ensures a comfortable ride over long distances. Moreover, superior level of comfort has been attained owing to new features like telescoping front suspension, 5-Spoke alloy rims with 12 inch rear wheel and 10 inch front wheel. For safety the Activa 125 shall get an optional disc brake for the front wheel. The upcoming automatic scooter from Honda is placed in straight line of competition with the likes of Suzuki Access, Mahindra Rodeo and TVS Jupiter, all from the 125 cc segment of automatic scooters.
