In a matter of four days the hall managed to receive more than 200,000 visitors and over 250 enquiries from potential customers. The Shreyans Hall was able to attract so many visitors because of its line-up of international brands like Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), Ducati, Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche. Models like Porsche Cayenne, Maserati Quattroporte, Ferrari California, Ducati Monster 795 and Can Am Spyder were present at this stall.

      Ashish Chordia, Chairman, Shreyans Hall, said “It is heartening to see the overwhelming response of the visitors visiting our hall at the Auto Expo 2012. The response reaffirms our belief that there is huge enthusiasm and curiosity for our products making India an important market for all the brands we represent – BRP, Ducati, Ferrari, Maserati and Porsche.”

      The Maserati fleet included the Quattroporte range and the GranCabrio. Quattroporte is an award winner that has performed well in terms of sales and on-road performance. The range begins with the Quattroporte, which is followed by Quattroporte S and finishes with Quattroporte Sport GT S, the top end variant.

      All Quattroporte models are equipped with high performing V8 engines. The Quattroporte has a 4.2 Litre engine, while the other two have a 4.7 Litre engine. The displacement of engine for Quattroporte is 4244 cc, whereas the Quattroporte S and Quattroporte GT S have displacement of 4,691 cc. The bore and stroke of Quattroporte are 92 mm and 79.8 mm, respectively. Both the Quattroporte S and the Quattroporte GT S have 94 mm of bore, though the stroke is slightly lesser at 84.5 mm and 85 mm, respectively.

      The base variant, the Quattroporte, delivers maximum power output of 400 hp at 7000 rpm and torque of 460 Nm at 4750 rpm. The Quattroporte S generates 430 hp of maximum power, whereas 440 hp of power is produced by Quattroporte GT S. Both the Quattroporte and Quattroporte GT S render maximum torque of 490 Nm at 4750 rpm.

      Maximum speed of Quattroporte is 270 kmph, while the Quattroporte S and Quattroporte GT S can attain 280 kmph and 285 kmph, respectively. As far as the CO2 emissions are concerned, the Quattroporte produces 345 g per kilometre and Quattroporte S and Quattroporte GT S both emit 365 g per kilometre. On city roads, the Quattroporte gives a mileage of 4.5 kmpl, while Quattroporte S and Quattroporte GT S deliver 4.18 kmpl.

      The Quattroporte series exudes style, with a new radiator grille in the front that sports the Maserati logo. The exterior has the option of metallic paint, special and Bianco Fuji pearlescent colours. Standard features in all three models include electrically operated, folding and heated door mirrors; side vents; electric opening assist for boot lid and doors; and electric closing assist for boot lid. The highlighting interior features are aluminium sill protectors with Maserati designation and the car’s logo on the dashboard.

      The common safety features of the three cars include airbags, new generation front passenger airbags and front and rear seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters. The cars are also equipped with the Maserati Stability Program (MSP) that consists of stability control mechanism, traction control, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and engine torque control.

      The overall dimensions of all three variants are quite similar, with only the height of Quattroporte GT S being slightly lesser than the other two. The length and width of all the three variants are 5,097 mm and 1,895 mm, respectively. Quattroporte and Quattroporte S have a height of 1,438 mm, while the Quattroporte GT S is 1,423 mm high. Wheelbase of all Quattroporte cars is 3,064 mm, while their front track is 1,582 mm and rear track is 1,595 mm. In order to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph, the Quattroporte takes 5.6 seconds, the Quattroporte S takes 5.4 seconds and the highest variant takes about 5.1 seconds. The Quattroporte series costs between Rs. 1.2 crores and Rs. 1.45 crores in India.  

      Maserati GranCabrio, hailed as one of the most beautiful cars in the world by auto experts, was also displayed at the Shreyans Hall. The GranCabrio has been highly successful worldwide. It has a naturally aspirated 4691 cc, 4.7 Litre V8 engine that delivers maximum power output of 450 hp at 7,000 rpm and torque of 510 Nm at 4750 rpm. It is incorporated with the six-speed automatic transmission mechanism that has the super-fast MC Auto Shift software, which is inspired by the transmission of the Quattroporte Sport GT S.

      Fitted with 20 inch alloy wheels, the car can achieve top speed of 285 kmph and takes about 5.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph. The bore and stroke of the car is 94 mm and 84.5 mm, respectively. The length, width (excluding wing mirrors) and the height of the GranCabrio are 4,881 mm, 1,915 mm and 1,353 mm, respectively. The wheelbase is 2,942 mm, while the front and rear tracks are 1,586 mm and 1,590 mm, respectively. The Maserati GranCabrio produces 337 g of CO2 per kilometre. The fuel economy in the city is 4.44 kmpl, while on the highway it delivers mileage of 10.2 kmpl; the combined fuel economy of the car is 7 kmpl.

      The car is stylish and trendy and comes with all-new detailing. Its exterior features include black look front grille with vertical and concave grille bars, option of metallic paint, black look exterior trim (headlights, shadowline, front grille and side vents), door handles and front flick-up in body colour and Maserati designation on the rear. Prominent interior features comprise GranCabrio Sport logo on the dashboard, under door sills in the Cabrio design and instrument dials in Maserati Blu colour with white graph. A few safety features of the car include electronic immobiliser, alarm system, cruise control, rain sensor, airbag system and front and rear fog lamps. The price of the Maserati GranCabrio starts from Rs. 1.43 crores in India.

      The Ferrari California is essentially a racing car, the first automobile in the Ferrari range of road-cars to be equipped with a mid-front mounted V8 engine made of aluminium. Between the two cylinder banks, the V8 engine stands perpendicular, positioned at 180° angle between the cranks. The 4,300 cc engine generates maximum power of 460 hp at 7,750 rpm. Due to the power-to-weight ratio of 107 hp per litre, the car is able to attain peak torque of 485 Nm at 5,000 rpm. This vehicle is capable of producing 75 per cent of its maximum torque at about 2,250 rpm.

      In order to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph, the car takes less than 4 seconds; it can reach top speed of 310 kmph with utmost ease. The car has a double wishbone suspension system in the front, while the rear has multilink suspension. Some of the standard features of Ferrari California include air conditioner, Anti-lock Braking System, power steering, leather seats, central locking and music system with CD player. The Ferrari California price range starts from Rs. 2.27 crores in the domestic market.

      The other model of prestigious Italian automaker at the Shreyans Hall was the Ferrari FF. It is the most powerful Ferrari till date – a four-seater with four-wheel drive capabilities. The car is equipped with a mid-front placed V12 engine that generates 660 hp of power at 8000 rpm and torque of 683 Nm at 6000 rpm. The power-to-weight ratio of the car is 105 hp per litre.

      This car renders the perfect combination of a sports car performance and the GT usability. The top speed of the car is 335 kmph and it can accelerate from naught to 100 kmph in 3.7 seconds. It delivers fuel economy of 6.5 kmpl and CO2 emissions of 360 g/km. The car is equipped with Anti-lock Braking System, air conditioner, power steering, leather seats and central locking. The Ferrari FF carries a price tag that starts from Rs. 3.42 crores.
