      We were present when Force Motors displayed its new range of automobiles on the first day of the Delhi Auto Expo 2012. The company had unveiled the new models at four different zones at its stall. Abhay Firodia, Chairman of Force Motors was present during the unveiling of company’s new vehicles. He stated, "The new vehicle has been designed, developed and tooled in-house by Force Motors R&D." The engineering team has used high strength, pressed steel body parts to design the Traveller-26.

      Zone-I showcased Force Motors’ ‘Traveller-26’, world’s largest monocoque van that can accommodate a total 26 passengers. The Traveller-26 is the first automobile in its segment that has been painted with the Cathodic Electro-deposition (CED) that provides rust protection for long time. The low floor vehicle enables passengers to enter and exit the bus easily. This new model by Force Motors offers best-in-class mileage; reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels; high-end safety features; comfortable seats; and electronic brake pad wear indicators. Lower maintenance cost is another positive factor of the Traveller-26.

      This model has been assimilated with many unique safety features. All the tyres of Traveller-26 are provided with disc brakes that help the driver exercise total control over the vehicle. The Traveller-26 is equipped with the intercooled CRDI engine (licensed by Daimler), which churns out peak power of 128 hp and maximum torque of 295 Nm. This new engine is complemented with a G-33/5 transmission system which helps the engine to maintain its performance. Traveller-26 would be available at a price tag of Rs. 11.5 lacs.

      Force Motors has also unveiled the luxury edition of the Traveller-26 at its Zone-I. The Traveller Luxury, a BS-IV compliant vehicle, has sufficient seating space for up to 15 passengers. It includes a range of convenience features, namely air conditioning with individual A/C ventilators, wide reclining seats, tray tables and ample leg room. The mini super deluxe coach by Force Motors has been designed in accordance with inter-city coach standards. Therefore, the company would be looking forward to attract corporate clients, travel operators and hospitality enterprises with this vehicle. It is expected to come at a cost of approximately Rs. 14 lacs.

      Zone-II of the stall showcased personal automobiles manufactured by the company, including its highly awaited Force One 4x4 model. In addition to this, Force Motors displayed 2 variants of 4x2 Force One model and C-in-C Ladder type chassis at this zone.

      The Force One 4x4 model is expected to roll on Indian roads by July 2012. This new model will be equipped with the 2149 cc diesel engine (licensed from Daimler) that delivers peak power of 140 hp and maximum torque of 321 Nm. In order to assist the powerful engine, this vehicle is backed by an efficient 5 speed transmission system. Owing to the high power delivered by the engine, the car has enough capacity to attain a peak speed at 160 kmph. Although the car does well in terms of emissions, it does not lag behind in the terms of fuel economy, recording around 11.6 kmpl.

      As far as the dimensions are concerned, the 4x4 model measures 4860 mm in length, 1780 mm in width and 1885 mm in height. This new car has beige leather interiors, leather clad steering wheels, double DIN music system, day time running LED lights and projector-type headlights.

      The company has assimilated numerous convenience features like AC (without climate control), rear wiper, power windows, rear defogger, rear armrest with cupholder, remote central locking and remote fuel filler. Controls mounted on the steering, tinted glass, rear air conditioning vents and foldable rear seats are some of the other convenience features of Force One 4x4.

      Safety has also been given due importance in this car, with the new model having fog lamps and parking sensors. Buyers can choose between 5 different colours namely while ordering Force One 4x4, robust blue, emphatic grey, fierce red, intense white and bold black. The model will be available between the price range of Rs. 10.65 lacs to Rs. 11.11 lacs. When the ‘Force One’ 4x4 hits the roads, it would be competing against the likes of Mahindra XUV 500, Mahindra Scorpio and Tata Safari Storme.

      The two existing variants of Force One 4x2 were also displayed at Zone-II by Force Motors. The latest model of the car was launched in the Indian automobile market on December 2011, while the other variant had been present in the country since mid-2011. The two variants are equipped with a 2149 cc FMTech (Force Motors Technology), 4 cylinder CRDI turbo engine that delivers peak power of 140 hp and maximum torque of 321 Nm. The car incorporates a 5 speed G32/5 type gearbox with syncromesh and DMFW. With the maximum of power of 140 hp, the Force One 4x2 is capable of reaching 160 kmph. The model is backed by Daimler AG technology engine that results in mileage of 11.6 kmpl.

      Chrome grille, projector-type headlamps, broad bonnet, alloy wheels and stylish roof rails contribute to the exteriors of the 4x2 model. The interior features of the model includes, leather seats, all beige interiors, audio controls mounted on leather clad steering, instrument cluster, two AC vents and JVC Audio System (2DIN CD/MP3 player), to name a few.

      In addition, the company has assimilated unique safety features like overspeed warning, brake-pad wear, central locking, driver seat warning, remote key entry and door open warning and display. The Force One 4x2 variants are available in the Indian automobile market at a price range of Rs. 10.65 lacs to Rs. 10.72 lacs.

      In Zone-III, Force Motors showcased environment-friendly automobiles that run on alternative fuels. This zone displayed company’s concept vehicle, Traveller Hybrid, which has been designed in collaboration with Ricardo PLC and Locomotive Technologies Limited, U.K. Due to the technology used in the Traveller Hybrid, the vehicle can move for 23 km without any emissions on 200 sunny days. This will result in 30% reduction in fuel costs annually.

      Force Motors also unveiled the CNG versions of its Trump and Traveller in Zone-III. The CNG variant of the Traveller is equipped with an engine that can deliver maximum power of 78 hp and peak torque of 180 Nm. CNG models are best for cities with impressive CNG infrastructure like Ahmedabad and New Delhi.

      The last zone at Force Motors' stall dealt with automotive technologies, wherein the company exhibited Mercedes-Benz axles and engines. The engines affixed on Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles manufactured in India have been fitted and assessed by Force Motors since 1997. This zone gave the company the ideal platform for showcasing its capabilities in the field of automotive manufacturing and assembling.
