First glimpse of the upcoming crossover from American car-maker Ford named 'Edge' was recently revealed to reporters from Michigan, Germany, Dearborn and Cologne. The car shall be loaded with modern technologies and come with high end features that shall make it a hot-seller across different global markets. The crossover version of Edge car is due for launch in early 2015, whereas it may be sold in Europe by the end of next year. The current regular version of Edge is already being sold in USA since 2006, whereas it has been on sale in Brazil and China since 2008 and 2011 respectively. The upcoming version is stated to be based on the existing version platform.
Joe Hinrichs, president of the Americas said, “The all-new Edge is a showcase of Ford's smartest technologies, the best of everything we have brought to market to date.” The company has not spoken in-depth about the technical specifications, but for now reports state that Edge is expected to be launched in three trims. Turbochargers may also be introduced in certain variants to deliver higher fuel economy and power.
