Rohit Shetty’s love for action sequences involving cars is no secret, every film of his features muscular wagons rolling in air or leaping. It has been learnt that the director’s upcoming film, Singham Returns starring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor as protagonists will feature various Tata cars including Safari Storme, Sumo, Aria, Sumo Grande, Xenon and Nano instead of Mahindra Scorpio that was seen in most of his previous films. Even the prequel of Singham Returns released in 2011 featured various action sequences involving Scorpio SUV. However, this sudden shift in interest of the director from Scorpio to Safari Storme seems to be a little unusual as Scorpio had become synonymous with Rohit Shetty’s films.
The director himself has confirmed that the lead male character in the film, Ajay Devgn who plays Bajirao Singham in the movie will be shown using Tata Safari Storme in the film. He further said other Tata cars have also been used in various sequences in the film. Made under the production of Ajay Devgn Films, Rohit Shetty Productions and Reliance Entertainment, the film will be released on the occasion of independence day, on August 15, 2014 across India and other overseas nations.
Speaking on this occasion, Delna Avari, Head (Marketing Communications and Services) Tata Motors remarked, “The movie and its lead characters, Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor exude energy and charisma; precisely the qualities represented by our cars at Tata Motors. Hence, the ideal integration of our cars and Singham Returns”.
Popularity of Hindi films in India is unparalleled, Bollywood fanatics and enthusiasts ardently follow Bollywood actors and this is one big reason for the home grown auto maker to feature their cars in a movie. Being an action film there couldn't be a better film than Singham Returns. Prior to this, Tata’s muscular SUV, Safari Storme was also showcased in the popular TV Series, ‘24’ that featured Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor. The company also gave a glimpse of its upcoming vehicles Zest and Bolt at the 2014 IIFA awards.
