Compact sedans rule the hearts of Indian buyers, and this is quite visible if we look at the pathway of Hyundai Xcent throughout the year. Launched in February 2014, this car has bagged a name in the list of top selling cars in India during the tenure. Call it the efforts in the engineering by the South Korean manufacturer, or the publicity by the brand ambassador Shahrukh Khan, the reason stays uninhabited.

Equipped with a 1.2-litre Kappa engine for the petrol variant and a 1.1-litre CRDI engine for the diesel version, the car promises a decent throttle and power output. The base model, which costs the least, is a petrol variant priced around Rs. 4.8 lakhs, while the top model would leave a hole of around Rs. 7.5 lakhs in your pocket, which still is a great value for money for a mid-level sedan.

Right from its launch, Hyundai Xcent had been doing well in sales, as a result of which, Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) decided to make Shahrukh Khan the brand ambassador of this model. This event took place in September 2014 with the launch of a new TV commercial by the renowned actor. The Bollywood superstar’s association with this second largest car manufacturer of India has completed 16 years. This announcement of him as a brand ambassador did show on charts with the sales jumping even higher.
