Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL), the Indian subsidiary of the leading South Korean car maker Hyundai, is aggressively promoting its upcoming small car – Hyundai Eon – in the Indian market. The advertisements of the car can be seen across web portals and news papers, quoting ‘India will be ON soon’. The Hyundai EON is scheduled to be launched in the country on 13th October, just a few days before the years biggest festive season.

As most of you know, the Hyundai EON will be pitched against country’s largest selling Maruti Alto model. The car is expected to be priced competitively in the range of Rs 2.5 to 3.5 lakh, where it is expected to grab a significant chunk of the sales of rivals like Maruti Alto, Chevrolet Spark and Tata Nano. The 800 CC version of Maruti Alto is currently priced in the segment of Rs 2.3 lakh to Rs 3.3 lakh.

Powered by an 814 CC petrol engine, the new Hyundai EON will be delivering a mileage of 21.1 km per liter, considerably high as compared to the fuel economy of Alto at 19.73 km per liter.
