Foreseeing a probable rise in demand for its compact sedan, Amaze during the festive season, HCIL is planning to step up production of the compact sedan. The vehicle recently achieved 1 lakh unit sales milestone and hence looking at its popularity the auto maker wants to maximize production in order to be well prepared for the festive season when demand is supposed to rise further. Hence the auto maker is likely to increase production of the vehicle effective this month to ensure timely delivery. Produced initially at the company’s Greater Noida plant, HCIL shifted production of Amaze to its new manufacturing facility located in Tapukara Rajasthan effective February owing to surge in demand.

Launched last year in India, the vehicle is not only the first compact sedan from the stables of HCIL, but this is also the first ever vehicle from Honda in India to get a diesel engine. Overwhelmed with the response from customers in India, Amaze has become the fastest Honda car to achieve 1 lakh unit sales mark. Powering the compact sedan is 1.2 litre petrol and a 1.5 litre diesel engine. Amaze is a major contributor towards HCIL’s monthly sales and hopefully it will continue to rope in aplenty sales in upcoming months also. Despite launch of new options in CS segment, the vehicle has shown steady growth.

To celebrate one year of Amaze’s existence in domestic market, HCIL rolled out Anniversary edition of the vehicle in the month of April.
