      Honda Activa has been winning the hearts of Indian audience for quite some time now and has become a flagship gearless scooter of Honda Motor and Scooter India (HMSI) Private Limited in the country. The scooter is quite popular among Indian customers dwelling in both large metropolitan cities and small towns, besides contributes a major fraction to the overall sales of the company in the two-wheeler market.

      At present, Honda Activa competes against the likes of Suzuki Access, Kinetic Flyte, Hero Maestro, Yamaha Ray and Mahindra Duro in the Indian two-wheeler market. Further, Honda Activa was the company's first scooter model to be launched in domestic market, twelve years ago in 2000. Since then, the scooter has been a favourite among small Indian families, who aspire to have a low maintenance requiring and fuel efficient vehicle for commuting to small distances.

      Honda Activa is powered with a 110 cc petrol motor that churns out a decent 7 bhp power, besides delivering an impressive fuel efficiency in the range of 45 to 55 km per litre. The gearless scooter is extremely popular among local audience and is sometimes referred as a family two-wheeler, because of its higher load carrying capacity. The scooter comes trimmed with an option of self-start along with kick-start as well. Further, Honda Activa chassis is made of under the bone type, and its body panels are framed out of moulded steel sheet.

      Remarkably, Honda Activa offers superior rider comfort and incorporates puncture resistant 'tuff-up' tyre and tube configuration. The scooter is offered to domestic consumers at a price tag close to Rs. 46,000 in the Indian two-wheeler market.
