Honda’s premium sedan the Accord will be launched in India on 25th October. And it will be a Hybrid. With the festive season up ahead, Honda wants the Accord to be as competitive as it was back in the yesteryears.

The Accord Hybrid is a non-plug-in and will come with a 2-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. It will have a combined power of around 196 bhp and 300Nm of torque. There will be a petrol version with a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder engine, but it will be launched later.

The car was showcased at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The facelifted version of the ninth generation car is coming back to India after the previous generation was discontinued in 2013. Certainly the car will be feature laden and will have all the technology for safety and comfort.

Accord will be imported as a completely built unit (CBU) and will lock horns with Toyota Camry Hybrid in India. The expected price is to be around Rs 30-35 lakh. Honda is looking to improve its line-up with the premium sedan and the car’s original brand image will lend a much needed feel to the manufacturer and the customers.
