      Hindustan Motors comes up with the revamped version of Cedia

      Hindustan Motors, the Indian auto company, has introduced the upgraded model of its mid-size sedan Cedia, 'Select 2012' in the domestic market. The new Cedia Select 2012 is offered in three vibrant colours, namely white speed, black flash and rally red. Priced at Rs 8.90 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi), the new model boasts of advanced features, which add to the convenience of passengers.

      The 2012 edition of Cedia features an innovative seven-inch Mapmyindia android-operated carpad, which facilitates occupants in making calls, browsing net and watching television. The new device is also compatible with video calling facilities, as reported by the company officials. Additionally, the car has some of the industry-leading safety features, such as day/night rear view mirror, front airbags and child-protection rear lock.

      In order to make the journey pleasing, the recently launched Cedia Select is equipped with a tablet, which can be either be mounted on the back of the front seats, for rear passengers or at the windscreen for the front row occupants. The company will produce its new sedan at Thiruvallur facility (near Chennai) which is also engaged in producing other cars of Mitsubishi.

      At its Uttarpara plant in West Bengal, the car maker presently produces Ambassador (1500 cc and 2000 cc diesel models, 1800 cc petrol model as well as CNG and LPG versions) in the passenger car segment. In Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment, the company manufacture diesel version of 1 tonne payload mini-truck Winner 1.5 XD PLUS, CNG variant of Winner 1.8 XD PLUS and auto components at the same facility.
