      Production for the Datsun Go hatchback began sometime in early February at the Renault-Nissan joint venture Oragadam plant in Chennai. The car was unveiled at the recently held Auto Expo event in Delhi. The Celerio hatchback from Maruti Suzuki has been a huge hit since its inception in the country just a while ago. The hatchback is stated to be a value for money offering in the A2 segment by the India's largest car-maker. The increase in demand has prompted Maruti Suzuki to consider doubling up the production numbers for the local market.

      The 5 door Datson Go hatchback is powered by a 1.2 litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. The fairly powered engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and delivers a fuel efficiency of around 20.6 kmpl. As per sources, the diesel version is anticipated to be launched at a later unreleased date. Series production of the first Datsun model in India, the Datsun Go, has began on the 4th of February at the Renault-Nissan joint venture Oragadam plant in Chennai. The front seats in the Datsun Go has been designed keeping in mind the natural curve of the spine to support the pelvis and chest, thereby relieving pressure off your back. The interior is spacious and noise free. Amongst a list of hatchback cars in India, the Datsun brand may face the stiffest competition from the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.

      The Celerio comes with EZDrive technology which is a comfortable replacement of the manual shift. Celerio claims to be highly fuel efficient and delivers an impressive 23.1 kmpl. The Auto Gear Shift system has no manual clutch and thus there are only two pedals. It is based on an electronic control unit which drives the precision hydraulic actuator to control the clutch engagement and the gear shifting. It also ensures that the gear and clutch operations happen at optimal timings. Some of the factors that are responsible for higher efficiency is the optimized compression ratio, reduced frictional losses, low viscosity engine oil, and re-designed valves and springs. The interiors in the Maruti Suzuki Celerio is said to be intelligently designed to maximize space and comfort. The rear seats get 60:40 split option known as 'XpanDesign' for more luggage space. The cabin space is neat and has a premium feel too it. Moreover, the occupants get ample headroom, legroom and shoulder-room for a comfortable travel.
