When the Paris Motor Show 2012 commences this year from 29th September to 14th October, Chevrolet is all set to pull off the covers from its all new compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), Trax. The model will be launched world wide by the end of 2012. General Motors is planning to launch the 5-seater car across 140 countries with the exception of US and Canada markets, where another product from the company, Equinox enjoys a major stake. Aspiring automotive markets of China and India tops the list of 140 countries.

The automotive giant is making an entry into the compact SUV segment with this new launch. The car has all the features, which the urban customers require like improved flexibility, higher fuel efficiency and handling which is at par with that of a sedan.

This latest mini SUV from Chevrolet can accommodate up to five passengers, have a capacious cargo space and a buffed up looks to exude a sense of power at the same time maintaining the overall dynamics as compact as possible. The company is maintaining its traditional design aesthetic on the exterior of the car, which-is slightly modified to give a muscular look. However, Chevrolet assures that on the interior front, the car will be at par with the luxury-brand models, as stated in a press release. The details regarding specifications of the car and pricing is being safeguarded by the car maker at the time. The speculations are that the company will be releasing the details at the Paris Motor Show 2012.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and Suzuki X4 crossover are the immediate competitors that the Trax from General Motors will take on. Senior Vice President (VP), Product Development, GM India, Marry Barra, said, "The Trax provides Chevrolet an entry into a growing small SUV segment and delivers the flexibility, great fuel economy and car-like handling that urban explorers around the world require."
