General Motors India, the Indian unit of US based leading car maker General Motors, has started the trial runs of their much anticipated Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) Chevrolet Enjoy in the country.
As per the recent media reports, the company is testing the car at their Halol based plant near Vadodara. The commercial production of the Enjoy MPV will commence by the end of this year, which would follow its official launch in India. Displayed at the January 2012’s Delhi Auto Expo, the Chevrolet enjoy had received an overwhelming response from the car enthusiasts and visitors.
While speaking to the Business Standard, a Halol plant worker said that the company has commenced trial run of the car at Halol plant and is currently producing around 40 units of this model including both petrol and diesel versions. He added, "Commercial production is expected to begin from December and the car will be available in the market from March next year onwards.”
The Chevrolet Enjoy will be competing with the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Toyota Innova, and Mahindra Xylo etc, in the price segment of Rs 6 to 9 lakh.
