Ford unveils new Fiesta in India

The Indian unit of US based leading car maker Ford Motors unveiled the all new Fiesta model in the Indian market on Thursday. It is to be mentioned here that the recently displayed Fiesta model will be the first model among the Ford’s upcoming 8 new car models in the Indian market, which the company will be rolling-out by year 2015.

The new Fiesta model will come equipped with a range of advanced safety, comfort and convenience features. The launch of new Fiesta is expected to further strengthen company’s position in the Indian market. The new Ford Fiesta will be manufactured at the company’s Chennai manufacturing facility and will hit the Indian roads in the month of July this year. The Chennai facility of the company has an overall manufacturing capacity of 2.5 lakh units per annum.

Speaking to the reporters in the National Capital on Thursday, Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said, “The new Fiesta will be a segment-leading product in India with intuitive first-in-class smart features and fuel economy that raises the bar in every way.”

Though the company hasn’t disclosed the specifications of the new Fiesta, the car is expected to come powered by new top-of-the-line Ti-VCT petrol and TDCi diesel engines that has been developed or the Indian market.
