Ford had introduced its premium SUV model Endeavour few years ago in the Indian market. Ford is working on One Ford program across the globe which means it intends to keep similar models across various global markets and customising them according to specific market needs. Ford is now planning to introduce a new variant of its luxury SUV by 2013. The model is currently under test phase and has been caught testing in the form of Ranger Pick Up truck.
Australian market automobile reports state that the Ranger is expected in the Australian markets by 2011 but do not reveal the technical specifications. However, it is largely expected that the model based on Endeavour platform will be powered by a CRDi engine with a turbo-charger.
The new Endeavour is receiving facelift to lure customers who wish to own a Toyota Fortuner like SUV but do not wish to stand in long waiting queues for bookings to open. Apart from its new designs and models for the Indian market, Ford is also working to improvise on customer support and after sales services in India.
