The new Ford Electric car would be completely running on electricity and is suppose to make a mark in the hybrid range of cars. Coming to the specifications of this car, the new Ford Electric would be packed with efficient batteries, which will assist in its electric running. The single speed transmission that is built inside the car is supposed to handle the rpm range, which indirectly will give a quiet and energy-efficient ride. The designing of this vehicle has also been very prominent as an athletic Z shape is being given to it, which shows that the car is always in motion. The 17 inch aluminium wheels also add style to its athletic appearance.

Responsible for the development direction at Ford, David Finnegan said “For the first few months of production, we will concentrate on imported cars in California and New York. Our dealers in these areas will be the first to get these electric cars. In the rest part of our markets, Focus Electric would be rolled in spring 2012.” This statement by him made clear that the Electric Car would be available only in California and New York. Ford is not the only brand that has delayed the launch of its vehicle, Nissan and Chevrolet have also postponed its segments but they also promised to build-up the number of sales to 16 thousand by the end of this year.
