      First Glimpse of the Ford SUV Everest 2015 released

      American automobile giant, Ford has finally revealed all details about their new presentation, the 2015 Everest. Last week, there was peek-a-boo into the first glimpses of the SUV; however, the automobile manufacturer has now brought all specifications to the forefront. It has been officially stated that Everest will be launched in the global market next year. It is expected to reach India, as well in the next calendar and shall be sold as the Endeavour.

      The first glimpse of the car was revealed at the Bangkok Motor Show in 2014 and was based on the lines of the infamous off-road model of Ford, the Ranger. Some of the major design aspects of this car bound for the Indian market was LED daytime running lights, front bumper and an imposing radiator grille. This SUV has a premium aluminium under-body and rear protection. It stands tall with a ground clearance of 225 mm. Ford has stated that the car can easily wade through 800 mm of water. The towing capacity of the car, as claimed by Ford, is 3000 kilograms.

      Ford has high hopes from this SUV and has stated that the car is capable enough to redefine its segment. The manufacturer has also hinted that it is relying heavily on the model for its global growth plans. It has been stated that Ford has done a thorough research on the Asia-Pacific region for the manufacture of this car. All the efforts have been collectively conjured to suit the requirements of buyers in this region.

      Everest will be available with one EcoBoost petrol engine and two diesel engine options. The diesel models will be either by the 2.2 litre Duratorq TDCi or the larger five-cylinder 3.2 litre mill. The petrol model gets the award-winning 2 litre, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. The 2015 Everest will be provided with both automatic and manual gearbox options.

      Everest is being manufactured in Thailand, specifically for ASEAN markets. The Endeavour, as it will be called in India, currently is marketed through the Completely Knocked-Down (CKD) route and the 2015 model will follow the same path. It is expected to face strong competition from similar models like Hyundai Santa Fe, Mahindra Ssanyong Rexton and the Toyota Fortuner.
