Luca Di Montezemolo, President of Ferrari, has revealed intentions to remain in charge of the Ferrari Formula One team, in case he makes up his mind to run for a seat in the Italian Parliament. At present, the Ferrari Head is undecided about his entry into politics, but is acquiring support for Mario Monti; the current Italian Prime Minister's another term in office.

Reportedly, Di Montezemolo had met the Prime Minister before Thursday, December 20, 2012 held annual end-of-season address. He affirmed that combining the two roles would be tough, but not impossible. Speaking his mind, Di Montezemolo was quoted as saying, “I did it when I was President of Fiat and (Italian employers' federation) Non-industrial. The first three tears were really hard; I don't know how I did it. But I managed to. For me, Ferrari remains fundamental.”

Evidently, the Ferrari Formula One team has had a disappointing 2012 season. Ferrari's star driver Fernando Alonso missed out on the title in the season's last race, at the hands of reigning champion and team Red Bull's race driver Fernando Alonso. Team Ferrari also couldn't finish at first position on the Constructor's championships and stayed second behind team Red Bull.

Expressing his regret at Ferrari Formula One team finishing second on both driver and constructor's charts, Di Montezemolo, added, “There is the regret that we lost the title in the last race. That we let slip an advantage that was over 50 points in August. However, the biggest regret is we did not have a car that was quick enough to win the title. So now we have to interpret the rules in a more aggressive and extreme manner. We have to be less conservative.”
