The Ferrari driver Felipe Massa is due to make his return to Formula One in due course of time. He will return to action in November this year when he competes in a kart event in Brazil. He had been out of the race tracks ever since he fractured his skull at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

According to Ferrari, “Felipe Massa is recovering well and has resumed fitness training after the horrific injuries he sustained at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July. The next step will be to start on the simulator and then to do some kart. When these things will be fine we will decide when to bring him back in a proper racing car."

Massa was hit by a high speed spring that flew off compatriot Rubens Barrichello's Brawn car in Budapest and it struck him in the head leaving severe head injuries. Massa will have titanium infused plate implanted in his head so that he is ready to race once again in the next season. Ferrari hired Italian Giancarlo Fisichella this month to replace Massa for the final five races of this season. Fisichella had earlier scored second position for Force One India at the Belgium Grand Prix.
