Elio Motors, which was founded by Paul Elio, has reported that work has begun on his fifth generation vehicle that will achieve a surprisingly high fuel efficiency of 35.7 kilometres per litre. Interestingly, the car will be priced at Rs 4.34 lakhs INR, excluding the taxes and duties. The car has been named the P5, as of now, and will be powered by a 900 cc, 3-cyclinder mill mated to a manual transmission.
The target launch date has been fixed at mid-2016 in the United States of America. Paul said, "The P5 build is another important step in our march toward production and is the culmination of several important strategic initiatives we have completed or launched in the past several months. The completion of our engine prototype, our offering to accredited investors and our recent supplier summit are all excellent examples of the progress we continue to make every day."
P5 have been witnessing styling as well aerodynamic modifications in the last couple of weeks. The engine and transmission have also been modified to suit the conditions better. Elio three-wheeled vehicle has it in all to make it a grand aspect with more efficiency and power. This is the first start-up in the United States of America in 60 years with its self-combustion engine.
