      The much hyped Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Chennai Express has finally hit theatre screens. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has returned to woo audiences after his last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan received a mixed response from critics. Produced by Gauri Khan, Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur, Chennai Express is directed by Rohit Shetty, who is known for delivering commercial successes like Golmaal, Singham and Bol Bachchan. A lot of hype has been created around Chennai Express, which is expected to be a blockbuster at the box office. There are several action sequences in the film, which includes certain scenes where cars have been blown up.

      Rohit Shetty, director of the film, has a passion for cars, which is quite evident from the movies he makes. A passionate car enthusiast, Rohit Shetty is known for shooting gravity defying stunts in his films, mostly involving multiple cars. The director's love for action is understandable as he is the son of late M B Shetty, who was a renowned fight master. In his previous films like Golmaal Returns, Bol Bachchan and Singham, audiences have seen many sequences involving a high number of cars.

      Speaking in a media interaction sometime back, Shetty revealed that he would like to own an old Mustang one day. In a recent interview, actor Shah Rukh Khan revealed his admiration for Rohit Shetty's work and his growing interest towards action films. Khan, himself, produced and acted in his ambitious project, Ra.One, which also had numerous action scenes and VFX shots.

      Chennai Express is a complete commercial potboiler or as industry people term, a 'masala film'. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, the film stars Deepika Padukone, Sathyaraj and Manorama. The movie is a fun-ride filled with comedy scenes, action sequences and also has romantic angle. According to the plot, Rahul, played by Shah Rukh Khan, meets Meena (Deepika Padukone) and they set on a long train journey that slowly unfolds into a series of events.
