The trend of auto makers offering lucrative deals to lure customers into buying cars has been prevalent for a while now. In a strategy adopted to counter the slowdown in demand and the financial crisis, companies have offered huge discounts to the price sensitive Indian buyers. Joining the bandwagon of such firms is luxury car maker Volvo, which has introduced an exciting deal on purchase of its S60. This package allows customers to buy the S60 premium sedan at a down payment of only Rs. 1 lakh. Making the offer more lucrative, Volvo is also providing free two-year warranty and insurance at a price of Rs. 1.
All these details were revealed in a poster officially released by the company. Notably, the Swedish automobile manufacturer has been working on enhancing the quality of its after-sales service, which is an important part of any company's long run plans. It must be noted that the base version of Volvo S60 has been priced at Rs. 25 lakh, whereas its top variant cost around Rs. 34 lakh.
Powered by 5-cylinder 2.0-litre engine, the entry level version of the Volvo S60 can produce a maximum output of 163 bhp and peak torque of 400 Nm. In addition, the base version renders a mileage of around 18.5 kmpl. The other variant of the Volvo S60 is equipped with a 2.4-litre diesel powertrain that churns out around 215 bhp along with torque of up to 440 Nm. A petrol version of the Volvo S60 is also available, called the T6 Summum, fitted with a six-cylinder twin-turbo 3.0-litre unit. Incredibly, the Volvo S60 T6 Summum generates a peak power output of 304 bhp and maximum torque of 440 Nm.
Interestingly, there are several advanced safety features and technologies included in the Volvo S60. Some of these functions include laser assisted automatic brakes, side impact protection system, city safety, whiplash protection system and turning with steering lights. Several functions have also been included for the assistance of driver, such as Dynamic Stability & Traction Control and Intelligent driver information system. Sources close to the company have claimed that Volvo is hoping to make the S60 popular among Indian buyers to offer it as a volume pulling model.
