The upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2012 is likely to have a second venue besides Pragati Maidan in the national capital, as the entire area has already been sold and there are still a number of prospective participants waiting for space to be allotted.

According to a statement given by Vishnu Mathur, director general of the Society of Indian Automobile Industry, "We are contemplating a second location to accommodate the entire auto industry in an integrated manner."

As the Indian auto industry is growing at its fastest pace ever, a large number of auto makers around the world want to display their products at the show. The Delhi Auto Expo is one the largest auto expositions in the world as a large number of auto enthusiasts visit the event along with lakhs of business visitors.

According to Mr. Mathur, The venue at Pragati Maidan is spread at an area of 55,000 square metres, but this serves just half of the total demand of space for the current edition of the show. The 11th edition of the show will be hosting about 35 new vehicle launches as compared to 25 launched held in the last edition.
