Dilip Chhabria, renowned Indian automobile designer, has revealed intentions to establish a new state-of-the-art production unit close to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Chhabria also divulged plans to open two new showrooms in Surat and Ahmedabad cities, for showcasing its customised vehicles and the country's first super car, the DC Avanti.
Chhabria is the founding owner of DC Designs brand, under which the Indian automobile designer of world class customised vehicles, markets his own products. DC Designs unveiled the DC Avanti at the 2012 Auto Expo held in New Delhi and the super car left the Indian audience gasping for breath due to its futuristic and enticing visual appeal. The DC Avanti became the star of the exposition and catapulted DC Designs towards global recognition.
Reportedly, the DC Design's upcoming new facility near Ahmedabad is believed to be made at a cost around Rs. 10 crore and will stretch to 60,000 square feet of area. Accordingly, the company will roll out the DC Avanti from its new facility as the demand for the super car is on the rise among Indian audience. At present, the Avanti is assembled at DC Design's Pune based production unit and the company is working towards starting the deliveries of the enviable super car somewhere in the second half of 2013.
Expressing his views about the latest developments from the stables of the company, Chhabria said, “We have 22 products and we already have six centers in India and we want to set up 16 new showrooms in near future across the country. We are going ahead with franchisee model for showroom. Ahmedabad showroom is expected to register sale of around 40 cars per month. All these showrooms will also sell India's first super car DC Avanti too.”
