      Daimler Trucks Asia gets a new Head - Marc Llistosella

      Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) has been one of the leading player in the country's commercial vehicle segment. The group is a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, together with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), is partnered under the Umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA). The group has announced certain management changes that would be effective from March and April 2015.

      As per the fresh update, Dr. Albert Kirchmann (58), currently Head of Daimler Trucks Asia, will become Chairman of Daimler Trucks Asia effective from April 1, 2015. Kirchmann will be responsible for consultation and support to the company’s strategic development and shall also continue to represent Daimler on the political level as well as in industry associations in Japan.

      Speaking more on the occasion, Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard, Member of the Daimler Board of Management with responsibility for Daimler Trucks & Buses, said, “I would like to thank Albert Kirchmann for his extra-ordinary personal dedication, bringing Daimler Trucks in Asia a major step forward. His growth strategy ‘Fuso 2015’ has sustainably strengthened MFTBC’s competitiveness and has set up a Fuso model range that fits extremely well with our customers in Japan and in our export markets. Under his leadership, our Asia business has successfully grown together under the roof of Daimler Trucks Asia.”

      Marc Llistosella aged 47, currently the Head of Marketing, Sales & After-sales, Trucks Asia & Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), has now been appointed as Head of Daimler Trucks Asia (Fuso and BharatBenz) effective from April 1, 2015. His responsibility would include direct reporting to Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard. Commenting on the occasion, Dr. Kirchmann said, ““Within a very short time, Marc Llistosella has firmly established the BharatBenz brand in the Indian commercial vehicle industry. Developing a tailored product portfolio, he proved that he understands the customers’ demands very well. Along with Albert Kirchmann, he is one of the architects of Daimler Trucks Asia”, Dr. Bernhard said. “I am convinced Marc Llistosella will manage the continuity and sustainability of our achievements and has the ability to set new initiatives in times of new challenges with his profound Asia know-how” His successor at DICV Erich Nesselhauf remains CEO and managing director of DICV and continues to report directly to Marc Llistosella also in the new role.

      Michael Kamper aged 49, currently is the Managing Director Trucks at Mercedes-Benz UK, shall move on to become the new Head of Marketing, Sales & Customer Services Trucks Asia effective from March 1, 2015. Kamper has been serving the company since 1995, during his tenure he has proven his expertise in truck business in various leading positions in product management and marketing.

      These changes have been decided by the Board of Management, Daimler AG, and are indeed subject to approval by the Board of Directors and the Shareholder’s Meeting of MFTBC.
