      BMW X1 spotted on test in India, launching next year

      German automaker BMW has been been thrilling the Indian car buyers with its interesting fleet of cars in the luxury segment in India. This time around sources have managed to capture images of second generation X1 that has been undergoing road test in the country and is expected to be launched next year.

      The upcoming BMW X1 is expected to be powered by 2.0-Litre four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine. The European variant generates three different power output figures of about 148bhp, 187bhp and 228bhp. As per sources, the new trim reportedly shall be 17% more fuel efficient and be shall have lower CO2 emissions. Moreover, the vehicle may be offered in 6-speed manual or an 8-speed Steptronic transmission.

      The company has also been considering localization thereby expecting the vehicle to carry a lower price tag. Though the upcoming vehicle may get an automatic transmission, its is not known whether the company may introduce the xDrive AWD variant in India. The pricing and other details may be revealed at a later date.
