      BMW MINI debuts in India with first exclusive dealership in Mumbai

      BMW India, the wholly owned subsidiary of the German luxury automaker, BMW has deputed an exclusive outlet to mark the launch of its iconic small car brand, MINI in the Indian market, where the demand is rising exponentially for sportive and premium small cars.

      India has become the 100th country where the globally acclaimed brand, BMW MINI has made its grand entry. Infinity Cars in south Mumbai has been appointed as the dedicated dealership of MINI and the dealer has confirmed that with 100 bookings in hand, the delivery of which will commence from May this year, the monthly sales from the showroom will range from 25-30 cars.

      As far as the expansion strategies of the brand is concerned, Mr. Andreas Schaaf, President of BMW Group India commented, "We will not stop (here) and plan to expand further. We will have 5-6 exclusive MINI dealerships by 2012."

      He also commented upon their sales volume and profit expectations saying, "MINI is not about volume. Our focus is on brand building and that is important for us."

      The brand BMW MINI will make gradual debut in major cities this year with showrooms to be inaugurated in the next month in Delhi followed by Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chandigarh.

      The automaker has also claimed that it has brought to Indian roads, the world’s most exciting premium small cars that endows the owner the feeling of pride and prestige blended with essence of urbanity making the brand MINI, the world’s most emotional auto brands.
