In an incident that could have led to loss of life of young individuals, and more so, which could have become a political issue, two persons got hurt when their bike collided with the car of Rashmi, wife of Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray. The incident happened at Kalanagar Junction in Bandra (East) on 29th October, 2012. According to the police, Rashmi escaped unhurt after the accident.
Reports suggest that Rashmi was on her way from her Kalanagar home and was headed in the southern direction when the collision occurred. The two people who were injured were apparently going from Bandra towards Dharavi. According to reports on scene, the bikers did not notice the car after they took a sudden turn at Kalanagar junction. The signal, when the incident occurred was green, as both parties informed the police.
Bodyguards of Shiv Sena Chief's wife were also in the car when the accident happened. However, they were also not hurt when the bike crashed into the car. Reportedly, the bodyguards helped the injured promptly and asked people around site of the accident to take them to the hospital. As per the latest statements by the police, the biker as well as the pillion rider was out of danger.
