Reports claim that Bentley’s upcoming sub-Bentayga SUV could go the all-electric way. Bentley has added that they’re looking at a new set of buyers for their next SUV which is why sources feel that it’s probably due to the all-electric nature of the new vehicle.

Rolf Frech, board member for engineering at Bentley, was quoted saying that there’s a need for an SUV that’s smaller than the Bentayga. And that it makes sense to induct new customers into the brand, which is why they’re looking at possibilities to make it fully electric.

Bentley has already talked about offering more SUVs when their CEO, Wolfgang Durheimer, explicitly revealed no intentions of sticking to just one SUV model in the years to come. He confirmed that Bentley believed that a smaller Bentayga had the essence to do well in the market.

Before that though, Bentley is in full swing to introduce plug-in hybrid versions of all its models before work on its fully-electric vehicles take off. With this in mind, the fully-electric SUV may be introduced in the global market only by the year 2020. We will give you more news in the days to come, so stay tuned.
