Bajaj Auto has laid out new plans for the Indian market. It is currently the second largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India and is working on fresh introduction of products for its growth in the Indian market. It intends to sell at least three lakh units in August 2010 and has already posted highest monthly sales in the current year in July 2010. "We aim to touch the 3.25 lakh mark in September," said Rajiv Bajaj, MD, Bajaj Auto.

The company has had a heady run with the Pulsar and Discover motorcycles and now the two-wheeler major is preparing the groundwork for the next phase of growth. Pulsar and Discover brands have been a great success and are clocking in great sales figure for the company with Discover selling 100,000 units each month. Company has big expectations with its newest kid on the block – Pulsar 135 and is depending on it to target monthly sales of 100,000 units from the current 60,000 units monthly. Sales of Discover have already crossed its competitor Hero Honda Passion.

Rajiv Bajaj also said that its capacity constraints for Discover will not hamper its growth plans and the company is already working on a new strategy to meet the rise in demand. “The next step is to increase volumes of these two brands to levels of 2,50,000 to 3,00,000 units a month. We are confident that this can be done in the coming months,” he said. Now Bajaj Auto is also working on launching a new bike launch in the first quarter of 2011.
