Bajaj Auto, the leading two-wheeler maker in the Indian auto market, is set to transform its all 34 pro-biking showroom in the country into exclusive KTM stores, where it will be selling the newly launched Duke 200 Sports bike. The all new KTM Duke carries a price tag of Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom). It is to be mentioned here that Bajaj Auto a 40 percent stake in the Europe’s leading sports bike maker KTM Power Sports AG.
The exclusive KTM stores of the firm will be displaying a range of KTM bikes in the coming months, and the company is planning to enhance the number of these showrooms to 40 by the end of this year. In addition to this, the company would add as many as 40 dedicated service centers for the KTM bikes in its network. The KTM’s India portfolio models will be assembled at the Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant, from where the company will deliver the bikes to KTM stores across the country.
Speaking to the reports at the launch of new KTM Duke, Bajaj Auto’s Managing Director Mr. Rajiv Bajaj said, "We plan to establish KTM as a sporty motorcycle brand that would offer niche European features to Indian users. Between the Bajaj Pulsar and the KTM Duke, we intend to further strengthen our dominant position in the sports motorcycle segment in India."
