The auto market of Brazil received the heavily anticipated Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Audi Q3 prior to its launch in India. Available in three trim levels, this car comes at a starting price of 144,900 Brazilian Real, which translates to approximately Rs. 40 lacs.

However, the German car maker has released only the petrol variant of the car in Brazilian market, which is powered by a 2 litre FSI powertrain built to deliver peak power of 207.1 hp. The speed of 100 kmph from zero can be reached in less than 7 second by this turbocharged unit, which is coupled with a 7 speed S-Tronic transmission unit. On the other hand, the Q3 will be launched in India as a diesel model. The car that will be introduced here will feature a 7 speed S-Tronic gearbox as well, but will be coupled with a 2 litre TDI powertrain unit. This unit is capable of delivering a power output of 173 hp and massive torque of 380 Nm.

The three trims of the compact SUV available in the Brazilian market are 'Attraction', 'Environment' and 'Ambition'. Out of these, 'Attraction' is the entry level variant, with starting price of Rs. 40 Lacs. Bi-xenon headlamps, 17 inch wheels, leather-covered seats, auto air-conditioning, audio system with Bluetooth and electrically adjustable driver seat are some of the notable features of this model. In terms of safety, the mini-SUV comes packed with 6 airbags, Electoric Stability Programme (ESP) and a roof rack. Other optional features provided by Audi in this car include Multi Media Interface (MMI) multimedia system with navigation and voice command.

Costing Rs. 43 lacs, the 'Environment' variant gets all the features of the 'Attraction' model as a standard with the exception of the MMI system, which is still optional. 18 inch wheels with wider rubber, panoramic sunroof, parking sensors, rain sensors and dual zone climate control are the added features, thus justifying the increment of Rs. 3 lacs in its price compared to the 'Attraction' variant.

'Ambition' is the top-end variant of the model, featuring 18 inch aluminium alloy wheels, MMI system, keyless entry, high-end audio system from Bose and Auto Park with reverse camera, among others. It comes with Audi’s unique Drive Select feature, which offers driving modes like Dynamic, Comfort, Auto and Efficient to choose from. With an extensive range of features, the 'Ambition' variant comes with a price tag of 179,900 Brazilian Real or Rs. 48 lacs.

Quattro All Wheel Drive (AWD) system is a standard feature in all variants of the car in Brazil. In case of India, the AWD will be the standard feature as well, though Audi will launch only two variants in the country. As compared to its direct competitor in the market, BMW X1, the Q3 will be a bit more expensive taking into account the standard AWD system. Thus, it is expected to be priced in the range of Rs. 27 lacs to Rs. 30 lacs.
