      Audi R-Drive’, a unique drive experience is organised across various cities of India by the German luxury car manufacturer Audi. Customers participating in this event, organised in various cities can get an opportunity to experience the powerful Audi RS5 and Audi R8 V10 Spyder.

      Sales performance of Audi is quite remarkable in India. The car maker registered 84 percent growth in 2011 against the preceding year. From January to December 2011, the auto giant sold 5511 cars compared to 3003 units in the same period of 2010. Registering a growth of 39 percent, the car maker sold 667 cars in January 2012 against 480 units in January 2011.

      In India, Audi has introduced Audi A7 Sportback, Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8 L, Audi Q5, Audi RS5 Coupé, Audi Q7, the Audi R8 Spyder, and the super sports car Audi R8. These cars are available in Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Mumbai West, Pune, Surat, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, and Ludhiana. Apart from these, the company targets Delhi West, Lucknow, Coimbatore, and Mumbai South for its further expansion.

      Audi Group in the year 2011 supplied around 1,302,650 cars to the customers, which speaks of its superb sales performance. Revenue of €32.4 billion has been earned by the auto giant from January to September 2011. In the same period, the company registered operating profit of €3.96 billion, which is quite impressive. At present, the company has set up its strong foothold in more than 100 markets across the globe

      Audi cars are manufactured in Brussels (Belgium), Győr (Hungary), Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm (Germany), and Changchun (China). At the Brussels plant, manufacturing of new Audi A1 has been taking place since May 2010. In 2012, the company started the production of A1 Sportback in the same plant. Since June 2011, production of Audi Q3 is also going at Martorell (Spain).

      In the Aurangabad plant, production of Audi A6 was started at the end of 2007. The company began the manufacturing of Audi A4 in the beginning of October 2008. After two years, Audi started the manufacturing of Audi Q5 in July 2010, and the next year, Audi A6’s manufacturing began.

      Subsidiary of Audi AG comprises quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm, Automobili Lamborghini Holding S.p.A. in Sant’Agata Bolognese (Italy), and Audi Hungaria Motor Kft.

      €13 billion investment plan has been made by Audi along with its four rings in between 2012 and 2016. For human resource, expansion of production facilities and development of new products, the investment will be made. The key reason for this investment is to carry on the brands technological lead as per its “Vorsprung durch Technik” slogan.

      At present, the company is making expansion of its Győr (Hungary) site. In late 2013, production will start in Foshan (China). Regarding the number models in its range, the car maker targets to increase it to 42 by 2015. The company provides employment to around 63,000 people across the globe out of which 47,900 are employed in Germany.
