Audi has introduced the petrol variant of its SUV model Q7 in India priced at Rs. 59.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company will start deliveries of the model from January 2011 and has started taking booking orders for the same. “We are confident that it will further help us consolidate our leadership position in the luxury SUV space,” said Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India.
The new variant employs TFSI technology which enables the engine to combine supercharging as well as direct petrol injection into the engine, thereby providing more power. The supercharged petrol engine now produces 333 bhp of peak power and can accelerate from 0-100 kph in just 6.9 seconds, while hitting a top speed of 245 kph. Interestingly, the torque figure of 44.5 kgm is available across a wide band, from 2900 rpm to 5300 rpm.
Another unique feature is the eight speed automatic gear speed with which this car is equipped.
The new technology makes the new Q7 more eco-friendly with lower CO2 emissions and improved fuel efficiency despite increase in the power.
