      Audi India records highest monthly sales in March 2012

      After recording brilliant growth in luxury segment of the Indian auto industry, Indian subsidiary of German auto maker, Audi India marked highest monthly sales in March 2012. The quarterly sales of the company were also decent, as Audi India sold 2,269 luxury cars between tenure of January 2012 and March 2012. During the first quarter of 2011, the sales recorded by the company were 1,611 units, taking their growth rate at 47 per cent for the first quarter of 2012.

      Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India, said, "Our impressive sales performance this quarter is testimony to the positive customer response to progressive design, world-class services and high qualitative network growth. We further strengthened our dealer network with the opening of a new Audi showroom in Nagpur recently and have planned for more developments on this front later this year. Our recently launched high performance sports Coupe Audi TT, has received an overwhelming response from customers across the country. Our business luxury limousine, Audi A6 and the Audi A4 have contributed greatly to this sales performance. This is the beginning of what we believe will be Audi's most successful year in India to date and I am confident that we will continue to meet the needs and demands of the young and aspirational Indian luxury car buyer."

      Audi is counted among the fastest developing luxury auto brand in the Indian market. With the models like R8, RS5, TT in the super sports car segment and Q5 as well as Q7 in the luxury SUV segment, the brand continues to be a dominant in the market. With the launch of Audi Q3 in India in the near future, the company aims to further strengthen its position in the domestic market.

      Mr. Perschke further added, "Learning from our 21 years of market leadership in China, our strategy of building a strong brand, a high quality network and a strong product portfolio is paying its dividend also in India."

      This year, the auto maker also plans to mark its presence in the auto market of Lucknow and Coimbatore, after establishing a strong foothold in the markets of Delhi and Mumbai. The new dealerships at these locations will be officially declared in a short time.

      The car portfolio of Audi India include the brands like Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8L, Audi A7 Sportback, Audi Q5, Audi RS5 Coupé, Audi Q7 and Audi TT. As far as the super sports car segment is concerned, it includes models like Audi R8 and the Audi R8 Spyder, which is available throughout the country. The cities in which the company has marked its presence includes Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Mumbai West, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Delhi West, Indore, Nagpur, Jaipur, Kochi, Ludhiana, Pune, Surat and Mumbai South.
