      2021 Volvo XC90 B6 Inscription launched in India at 89.90 lakh

      After introducing the updated XC60 and S90 in the country last month, Volvo has launched the refreshed XC90 here at Rs 89.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Like the S90 and XC60, this flagship gets a new petrol motor paired with a mild-hybrid system. That said, the Scandinavian automaker continues to offer the XC90 Recharged plug-in hybrid in India.

      Although Volvo has updated its flagship, the exterior of the car remains unchanged. It bears full-LED headlights, fog lamps, rear lights and 20-inch alloy wheels. Apart from that, Volvo offers a choice of four paints: Onyx Black, Denim Blue, Pine Grey and Crystal White Pearl.

      On the inside, the Charcoal cabin has an expensive Nappa leather trim available in Amber and Maroon Brown. In addition, Volvo provides a twelve-inch digital driver display and a nine-inch vertical central information display. However, the brand has not upgraded its infotainment system like it did in the XC60 and S90 with the Android-powered units.

      Being the flagship, the XC90 gets plenty of features such as an air quality system with a 2.5PM sensor, air suspension, a 19-speaker, 1,400-watt Bowers and Wilkins sound system, a wireless charging pad, heated and ventilated front seats with massage function, a heads-up display, 360-degree cameras, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping aid, pilot assist, blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert, collision warning, collision mitigation support (front and rear).

      The XC90 swaps its previous diesel motor with a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and makes 296bhp and 420Nm of torque. Meanwhile, Volvo has also given a 48-volt mild-hybrid system in the XC90.
