2018 Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza AGS introduced at Rs 8.54 lakhs

The country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, has introduced the 2018 Vitara Brezza AGS (Auto Gear Shift), also known as AMT, for a starting price of Rs 8.54 lakhs. The Vitara Brezza AGS is available in three variants - Vdi, ZDi and ZDi+/Zdi+ Dual Tone. The compact SUV continues to be powered by the existing diesel engine and a new AGS gearbox. This time around, customers get two new colour options - autumn orange and a dual-tone autumn orange with pearl artic white roof in the top-spec version.

Visually, the 2018 Vitara Brezza AGS looks sporty with a new chrome grille and back door chrome garnish as standard along with the new glossy black alloy wheels. As for safety, the new Vitara Brezza now gets front dual air bags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child restraint system, high speed warning alert, reverse parking sensors, front seat belt pre-tensioners and force limiters as standard. Mechanically, it continues to be powered by the 1.3-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that generates 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque.

Speaking on the occasion, R S Kalsi, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), MSIL, said: “Vitara Brezza has been a game changer for India’s SUV market. We have enhanced its allure to meet aspirations of our young customers. They now have the option of Auto Gear Shift, the acclaimed two-pedal technology, for enhanced convenience. AGS has been very well accepted by customers, and sales of AGS variants in the Maruti Suzuki portfolio have tripled in three years. By making this technology available on Vitara Brezza, together with a refreshed design, we expect India’s number one SUV to become even more attractive.”
