The 2015 Audi TT coupe has been finally launched in India at Rs. 60.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai & Delhi). The coupe, showcased at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, is already on sale in international markets. The 2015 model, based on Volkswagen MQB platform, is 50kgs lighter than the old model, thanks to the Audi Space Frame technology and VW's MQB platform. The new-gen TT shares some styling cues with the Audi Prologue concept, while retaining the basic DNA of the original TT.
On the exterior, the car features Audi’s Matrix LED lighting system, which is borrowed from the Audi R8. The aggressive and bold stances, too, are inspired from its R8 sibling. It also receives trapezoidal grille, larger air vents, new rear bumper and LED taillights, though, the overall silhouette remain same.
The length and wheelbase of the new TT have been increased marginally, while width is trimmed down and height remains unchanged. Coming to its interior, the new model receives some new tech-savvy features such as a new 12.3-inches digital Nvidia Tegra 30 GPU powered instrumentation cluster, new multifunction flat steering and Bang & Olufsen music system with12 speakers, 14 channel amplifier and 2 woofers.
No mechanical changes have been made to the coupe. It continues to be powered with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, mated to a 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. This engine delivers a maximum power of 227bhp with a peak torque of 370Nm. The coupe is now available with Audi’s Quattro all wheel-drive system. The 2015 Audi TT coupe will take on likes of the Mercedes-Benz SLK and BMW Z4 in India.
